Frequently Asked Questions

What do I need to know before my Fauna Fest?

  • We kindly ask that you make sure you have not ate strawberries within the last 8hrs prior to the encounter. Kinkajous are extremely allergic and could go into anaphylactic shock. We also ask that you ensure there are no strawberries in the same area the encounter will be held.
  • We will arrive 15 minutes prior to your booking to set up and we kindly ask that there are no children at this time and that everyone quiets down as well as turns down any music during our set up, this is because it may stress our animals and make them not want to come out for the encounters.
  • During the encounters we ask all parents to be present so they can monitor your children closely. Our animals are all rescues and we have worked very hard to make them get accustomed to people and we do not want any accidents or mishaps to turn this around.
  • When signing the waivers please make sure that the participating children's parents or legal guardians are the ones signing their waivers and not the birthday kids parents.
  • We kindly ask that no one who is participating in the encounters wears any heavy perfume, this can cause permanent damage to our animals scent receptors.
  • We kindly ask that no one kisses our kinkajou or touches his face. This is a very sensitive area for them.
  • If you or your child have any allergies, we ask that you please let our staff know and they will let you know if there is any risk for them or not.
  • A/C must be between 75-85 degrees Fahrenheit at the time of arrival
  • When selecting a room for the encounter, we kindly ask that you make sure it has a plug in port. We will bring an extension cord but this will make sure our animals can receive the proper temperature with their additional heaters.

Unfortunatelt, we currently do not accept credit or debit cards. However, we do accept payments through Zelle, wire transfers, and Apple Pay.

What should I do when the staff arrives?

We ask that you please make sure that no children are in the space or entrance in which we will enter and settle. We will be arriving 15 minutes prior to your booking time to ensure that the space is prepared and sanitized before beginning the activities and encounters. When the animal encounter is about to start we ask that everyone quiets down as well as the music is turned down low so we do not disturb our wonderful creatures.

What if I want to add a participant at the encounter?

Unfortunately, no participants can be added during encounter. All participants must be added during waiver and contract signature.

Can the encounter be held outdoors?

NO. Encounters cannot be held outdoors. This is to ensure the safety of not only our animals but of our children as well. All encounters will be held indoors in a wide space free of loud noises or flashing lights.

DISCLAIMER: Screened patios without pools are allowed.

What if a participant arrives late to the party or no shows and misses the encounter with an animal?

If a guest arrives late to the party and misses the encounter, we will unfortunately not bring the animal back out. This is because it can get stressed for over handling and manipulating. We will also NOT issue any refunds for guests not arriving.

I have pets, can they be out at the same time as the encounter is happening?

No. No other animals other than the ones being exhibited may be allowed in the area until the staff has left the site.

Can we take pictures?

You may take as many pictures and videos as you would like, we kindly ask that you do not use flash or we will have to stop the encounter since it can hurt our animals eyes. We also ask that if you post a picture do tag us on our social platforms.

I am allergic to bananas, can I feed the kinkajou something else?

Unfortunately we cannot feed anything else to our kinkajous during the exhibition do to their preference and training.

Why can I not have strawberries in the same room or have eaten strawberries within the last 8hrs before holding the kinkajou?

Unfortunately kinkajous are EXTREMELY allergic to strawberries and could go into anaphylactic shock from ingesting the smallest bit of strawberries. Therefore we kindly ask that you ensure to have not had any strawberries within the last 8hrs and that if you have handled them within the last 4 that you please wash your hands thoroughly before the encounter begins.

What should my A/C be at during the encounter?

We ask that the a/c is set anywhere between 75-85. This is to accommodate our animals needs.
